Nevada’s economy depends on small businesses more than ever—Nevada’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology shows that 85 percent of the state’s businesses have fewer than 20 employees. That’s why NCET has teamed up with TMCC’s Workforce Development and Continuing Education Division to offer a “Best of the NCET Entrepreneurial Expo” series held from 6 to 9 p.m. at TMCC’s Meadowood Center, in Reno, starting May 12.

This series of workshops—ranging from creating a business plan and arranging financing to business legalities and Web marketing—was selected based on each topic’s vital contribution to entrepreneurial success. While the original Expo seminars were only 50-minutes in length; the series’ classes allow for more in-depth exploration. Speakers from the NCET Entrepreneurial Expo, all proven experts in their fields, will be the instructors. They include: David Branby, a Clio-winning advertising professional who owns his own advertising agency; Richard Normington, who has more than 30 years of management experience with Fortune 100 companies; David Leonard, senior area manager for the U.S. Small Business Administration; and Jarrod Lopiccolo, CEO for Noble Studios, a web development company.
While the 14-class series is broken into a basic and advanced track, entrepreneurs are invited to attend any or all of the sessions.
