The Solar Store co-owner Leslie Medeiros enjoyed a windfall of positive media publicity during her recent exhibition at NCET’s Small Business Expo – publicity that she traces directly to attracting a number of new customers.
“I had a nice article in the Nevada Appeal highlighting our business, and a piece on KRNV news with Shelley Kudelka,” says Medeiros. “We have had several folks come in for our workshops mentioning the news article, and several more people mentioning the TV spot.”
In addition to the new business generated through her participation in NCET’s Expo, Medeiros says she also appreciated the value of networking with other small business owners.
“Meeting other business owners is one of the tangible benefits of attending the NCET Expo,” says Medeiros. “There are a lot of small businesses in our area that can benefit from networking and discussing business issues. With the economy right now, any exposure we get helps.”
Mederios’ The Solar Store offers free workshops on renewable energy topics she and engages in numerous public speaking vents. She says raising awareness of her business helps promote the benefits of energy conservation and renewable energy incentives to the general public.
“If we persist, we will make a difference, and the repetitive and varying presentations of exposure all help a small business like ours keep plugging along.”
